Chief of Euro giants claims they took advantage of Tottenham desperation to ditch duo
Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has revealed that the Turkish giants took advantage of Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele’s situations at Tottenham to get him late in the summer window.
The Galatasaray director has been speaking in his homeland, as relayed by Asist Analiz, after sealing the move for the Premier League duo in a high-profile move for the Turkish top flight.
Both players were allowed to join Galatasaray at the end of the window, with Sanchez joining in a €9.5m agreement earlier this week, while Frenchman Ndombele joined on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Former Lyon star Ndombele’s move came as no real shock having spent the last few campaigns away on loan at other clubs after failing to convince successive Spurs manager that he was good enough to remain in north London. Indeed, he won Serie A with Napoli last term.
The deal for Sanchez was somewhat surprising given the lack of depth Tottenham have at centre-back.
The Colombian was the third-choice central defender under Ange Postecoglou after Eric Dier was frozen out and Japhet Tanganga moved to Germany on loan.

Sanchez exit a costly one for Tottenham
It had looked as if Sanchez would play a key bench role for the Australian, only for Spurs to agree a sale for a massive loss on the £42m they paid for the player back in 2017.
However, Tottenham’s loss is Galatasaray’s gain, according to Timur, who is delighted to have the Premier League pair on board.
He said: “There were much more important opportunities for Ndombele four days ago, but when the transfer window closed, we took advantage.
“We thought we would not get Davinson either. We agreed on €9.5m + bonuses on the last day.”
Spurs are back in Premier League action on September 16 when they host Sheffield United, with deadline-day signing Brennan Johnson poised to make his debut for the club.
