Thiago Silva leads Chelsea charm offensive with Blues poised to beat Real Madrid, PSG to future world star

Thiago Silva of Chelsea

Chelsea are on the verge of winning the race for a player admired by Real Madrid and PSG, and a large part of their success could be down to Thiago Silva.

Chelsea are looking to get back to winning ways this weekend after losing three out of their last four outings. Graham Potter’s men were thumped 4-1 by Brighton at the Amex on October 29. This saw Potter endure a torrid return to his former club.

Chelsea did respond to that defeat by beating Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, which saw them top Group E with 13 points.

However, Chelsea have since been held back by consecutive losses. They were outplayed and outfought at Stamford Bridge by Arsenal, who ran out 1-0 winners in the league thanks to a Gabriel goal.

And the Blues’ most recent outing ended in a 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City. Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez were on the scoresheet on Wednesday night.

Chelsea face a tricky test this weekend as they travel to Newcastle on Saturday evening. The Magpies have had a soft centre in recent seasons but that is no longer the case thanks to their wealthy owners and the top coaching of Eddie Howe. In fact, Newcastle are six points ahead of Chelsea as things stand.

It is clear Potter needs reinforcements in January and next summer. He will want to make the squad his own as it has largely been shaped around Thomas Tuchel.

But Chelsea chiefs also want to future-proof the squad by landing some of the world’s best young talent. This explains the moves for Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Gabriel Slonina.

Chelsea eyeing move for Brazilian teenager

Another teenager who could join Chelsea in the near future is Brazilian wonderkid Endrick. He is just 16 years old but is already a part of the Palmeiras first team. And not only that, Endrick is getting among the goals, too.

He has found the net nine times in 13 matches so far this season. And it’s this kind of form which is putting Europe’s most illustrious clubs on alert.

Chelsea, Real and PSG are all vying to sign Endrick in 2023. And Chelsea have now made a big play to win the transfer pursuit.

According to the Daily Mail, they have shown the future world-beater around their training ground. And to make the experience even better for Endrick, they used centre-back Silva when giving him a tour.

Given the fact Silva is a hero in Brazil, this will have been a fantastic day for young Endrick.

Blues waiting on Endrick decision

The report doesn’t reveal whether Chelsea’s ploy has been successful, although they are apparently leading the race for Endrick at this moment in time.

The report does provide a bit of information on how a move may occur. Chelsea will need to deal with Endrick’s father, Douglas, to complete the deal. He has been in touch with several of Europe’s biggest teams to try and secure his son a move.

Given the youngster’s huge talent, Chelsea will need to pay Palmeiras a serious amount of money for him. They will need to put a substantial contract package on the table too, for when Endrick is old enough to sign one.

However, it is not all about finances. Endrick’s parents want to ensure that he is joining the right club when leaving Palmeiras. As such, Chelsea will need to have shown them that they can offer him a route into the first team. Presumably, this was done during his trip to west London. Only time will tell whether this, and the Silva strategy, worked.

Meanwhile, Brighton star Leandro Trossard has made a new admission about potentially joining Chelsea in the new year.
