Exclusive: ‘Impatient’ Rasmus Hojlund only has eyes for Man Utd in desperate bid to force Old Trafford switch

Atalanta and Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund is a Man Utd transfer target

Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund is desperate to push through his move to Manchester United and remains hopeful he will be at Old Trafford by the end of the month.

United are locked in talks with Atalanta and personal terms have been agreed with the Dane, whose game has been likened to that of Erling Haaland’s.

Sources have told me that Hojlund is growing slightly ‘impatient’ with Atalanta – who are holding out for a deal worth in excess of £60m for a player they paid less than £20m for last summer.

United have made Hojlund their top striking target and Erik Ten Hag has made it clear he wants him in before the start of the Premier League on August 12.

Whilst a deal is not on the brink of going through, United sources remain confident that a deal will be agreed – even though there have been several reports of them turning to other targets.

Other clubs such as PSG and Juventus have shown an interest, but am told that Hojlund has made it clear he only wants to join United at this stage.

The 20-year-old has scored 27 goals in 87 club career appearances and notched 10 times in 34 outings for Atalanta last season.

Hojlund has also scored six times in as many games for Denmark and is widely regarded as one of the top young attacking talents in European football.

The Red Devils are back in pre-season action on Saturday evening when they take on Premier League rivals Arsenal on their US tour.

United’s first game of the new Premier League season is a home clash with Wolves on Monday August 14.
