Exclusive: Man Utd, Liverpool learn Wolves willing to sell classy midfielder on one condition; agent working hard on exit

Matheus Nunes and Ruben Neves

TEAMtalk understands Wolves will listen to offers for Ruben Neves this summer but only if the midfielder refuses to sign a new contract, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham among the interested clubs.

Neves has proven himself to be one of Wolves’ most crucial players in recent years. This season he has managed a full 90 minutes in the majority of his team’s Premier League matches, as well as captaining the side regularly.

Neves is Wolves’ joint-top scorer with five goals, boasting the same tally as Daniel Podence. According to WhoScored, Neves is Wolves’ second-most efficient player when it comes to tackles and interceptions, while he also averages the most passes per game.

Despite the Portugal international being integral for Wolves, he has regularly been linked with a transfer away from Molineux.

And those rumours will only increase now Neves has entered the final 18 months of his Wolves contract.

TEAMtalk has been told that with a new deal not close to being agreed, some of the Premier League’s biggest teams are sitting up and taking notice.

Man Utd, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle all like him a lot and have done for some time. This summer could well be the transfer window he moves on as he is not short of interest. Which team he ends up going to will largely depend on Wolves’ asking price.

Wolves make decision on Ruben Neves future

The 26-year-old has been loyal to Wolves and has not yet revealed what he is going to do. TEAMtalk understands Wolves are ready to listen to offers for him, but only if the star refuses to agree a contract extension.

Neves’ representative is renowned super-agent Jorge Mendes, and he is working hard in the background to secure his client a move.

Meanwhile, an in-form attacker has spoken about his future amid Man Utd chasing his services.
