Arsenal transfer news: Hector Bellerin turns to fresh exit option as Real Betis deal dispute rumbles on

Hector Bellerin, Arsenal v Everton July 2022

Hector Bellerin is willing to terminate his Arsenal contract in order to force through a transfer to Real Betis, according to a report.

The 27-year-old is one of the longest-serving players in the Gunners squad, but he does not have long left. While he was a key member of the team under Unai Emery, Mikel Arteta has moved on.

Indeed, the arrivals of Nuno Tavares and Takehiro Tomiyasu have forced Bellerin down the pecking order.

And the Spaniard subsequently left Arsenal on loan last summer for Real Betis, with whom he has a great affinity.

Given his chances of getting the back in Arteta’s thinking are slim, Bellerin wants a permanent move to Real Betis.

However, Arsenal are playing hardball over their fee demands. They know they could lose Bellerin for nothing if his future is unresolved this summer, but the Gunners still want as much as possible for him.

As a result, BeSoccer claims that Bellerin is thinking of getting Arsenal to terminate his contract.

Not only would it make him become a free agent and therefore ease Betis’ financial concerns, it may speed up negotiations for a permanent deal by forcing the north London side to lower their demands.

Arsenal have a recent history of terminating the contracts of some of their first-team stars. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left for Barcelona on those terms in January, while Mesut Ozil also ripped up his deal.

Ultimately, Arsenal realise Bellerin will not be going for an extortionate fee – but they still do not want to lose him for free.

Betis, who are the team Bellerin’s father supports, want to find a compromise for him – or get him as a free agent.

Atletico Madrid had links with a swoop for the Spaniard earlier this summer. However, they swooped for Udinese’s Nahuel Molina.

Arsenal, Bellerin need swift resolution

Bellerin is not a player who Arsenal should be negotiating every last penny for.

He has been a solid servant, but he is no longer a first-team star and is just looking for a fresh start.

Following his move to Betis last year, he feels that a move back there would be the perfect next challenge.

Hector Bellerin wants out of Arsenal this summer for La Liga return

Hector Bellerin could leave Arsenal for Real Betis return this summer but confirms he doesn’t want to stay at Arsenal

At 27, he is just approaching his prime and helped his loan club win the Copa del Rey last season. Betis also finished fifth in La Liga, so have Europa League football to look forward to.

The push next season will be for more silverware and maybe an assault on a Champions League finish. Bellerin can play a major role in that push and so his future needs sorting sooner rather than later.
