Also known as The Terriers, Huddersfield Town were founded in 1908. Their history is a long and storied one, with a number of notable triumphs and trophies won, particularly in the early years. Indeed, the club won the then First Division titles for three consecutive seasons between 1923/24 and 1925/26. In doing so, under the guidance of their esteemed managed Herbert Chapman, they became the first English club to win the title in three consecutive seasons. They also bagged the FA Cup in 1922 and were runners-up in 1928, 1930 and 1938.
Since those glory years the Yorkshire side has enjoyed considerably less success, although they did make a return to the Premier League for the first time since 1972 when they won promotion via the play-offs ahead of the 2017/18 season. The Terriers survived their first season back in the top flight but were relegated a season later and continue to play in the Championship to this day. Currently managed by Spaniard Carlos Corberán, the team is skippered by Jonathan Hogg. Other star players in their squad include defender Harry Toffolo, veteran striker Jordan Rhodes, Senegalese forward Naby Sarr and Luxemburg international Danel Sinani.
The club are able to boast a number of celebrity fans including Sir Patrick Stewart, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom (whose father once played for the club) and politician Harold Wilson.
