Leeds United have announced the departure of Luis Sinisterra on loan to Bournemouth, but they have managed to sign Jaidon Anthony on a temporary deal in return.

Bournemouth have lifted Sinisterra back up to the Premier League after he suffered relegation by the end of his debut season with Leeds following a summer 2022 transfer from Feyenoord.

Leeds lost several players after their relegation, including most of the newcomers they had brought in last summer. Sinisterra’s departure went down to the wire, though, requiring a deal sheet to be submitted to the Premier League.

In the end, Bournemouth have been able to announce his arrival on the South Coast on a season-long loan. The surprise twist is that Leeds have taken Anthony in return on a loan deal of their own.

Sinisterra, 24, is still under contract with Leeds until 2027. The 23-year-old Anthony, meanwhile, is tied to Bournemouth for the same amount of time.

Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said on their official website: “We’re delighted to bring Luis to the club and I have no doubt that he’ll be a superb addition to our squad.

“He’s a player that has already experienced Premier League football and has featured at the top level in Europe too, so we’re really looking forward to having him with us.”

Sinisterra is the second Leeds player to join Bournemouth this summer after Tyler Adams recently completed a permanent move to the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries also frustrated the Whites by hijacking their deal for Max Aarons from Norwich City.
