Massive Man Utd flop and Liverpool legend among the Premier League players that could still move clubs this summer

While the transfer window has slammed shut for Premier League clubs, they might still be able to offload some of their players.

The window remains open in some European countries, including Portugal, Belgium, Turkey, Greece, Russia and Croatia.

Beyond Europe, clubs in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Australia, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates are also able to sign new players.

We’ve taken a look at 14 Premier League players that could potentially move clubs in the next few weeks.

Hugo Lloris

Lloris expressed a desire to leave Tottenham earlier this summer and was linked with Newcastle United, Lazio, Paris Saint-Germian and Nice.

While those moves failed to materialise before the deadline, the goalkeeper still doesn’t feature in Ange Postecoglou’s plans as Spurs already have Gugliemo Vicario and Fraser Forster.

“I think I’ve already said, I’m not going to have three first-team goalkeepers on my list, and I think I said that two weeks ago,” the manager said on deadline day.

“I think particularly when we’re talking about the homegrown quota, it doesn’t make sense for us to have two foreign goalkeepers on our list, but Hugo knows that.”

The 36-year-old still has offers on the table from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, who are reportedly willing to more than triple his current £100,000-a-week wages.

Cedric Soares

Cedric has fallen out of favour at Arsenal as Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are now ahead of him on the pecking order.

The 32-year-old defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham but made just eight appearances for Marco Silva’s side.

Benfica, Porto and Sporting CP reportedly want to sign the Portugal international this month and Olympiacos are also interested in securing his signature.

Jamaal Lascelles

Despite being the club captain at Newcastle United, Lascelles has made just one substitute appearance so far this season.

TEAMtalk understands that the 29-year-old is a target for Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab, and he might be tempted by a move away in search of regular first-team football.

He is also in the final year of his contract at St. James’ Park and this could be the final opportunity to cash in on the centre-back.

Eric Bailly

Bailly was deemed surplus to requirements by Erik ten Hag when the Dutchman took over at Manchester United last season.

The centre-back spent 2022/23 on loan at Marseille, but a spate of injuries and a poor disciplinary record meant the French giants never agreed to a permanent move.

He has since been linked with Turkish side Besiktas and Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, where he would reunite with former United team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Telles.

United are reportedly willing to let the 29-year-old leave on a free transfer as they try to get his £80,000-a-week wages off their books.

Davinson Sanchez

Tottenham bought Micky van de Ven in the summer and are now willing to offload Sanchez, who has entered the last year of his contract.

Spurs accepted a bid from Spartak Moscow, only for the move to break down when the centre-back refused to join the Russian side.

French side Rennes and Turkish side Galatasaray also tried to sign Sanchez but their bids of £7.7million fell short of the £12.9million asking price.

While the Ligue 1 transfer window has now closed, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Galatasaray are close to signing the Colombia international.

Malang Sarr

Since joining Chelsea on a free transfer from Nice in the summer of 2020, Sarr has made just 21 appearances for the club.

The centre-back, who spent last season on loan at Monaco, has become somewhat of a forgotten man at Stamford Bridge.

He is behind Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill, Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah and the injured Wesley Fofana in the pecking order.

According to reports in Turkey, the 24-year-old is currently attracting interest from both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

Jorginho

Despite only joining Arsenal in the January transfer window, Jorginho could be on the move once again.

The 31-year-old made some valuable contributions in the second half of last season but has been limited to just 18 minutes off the bench so far this campaign.

Turkish journalist Arda Biben claims that Fenerbahce have made Jorginho one of their top targets as they look for a deep-lying playmaker.

But the severity of Thomas Partey’s latest injury could determine whether Mikel Arteta sanctions a late exit for the Italy international.

Tanguy Ndombele

Tottenham’s club-record signing, Ndombele has been unable to justify his £55.4million price tag since arriving from Lyon in 2019.

The midfielder spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Napoli but they decided against activating the option of signing him for €30million.

He has also failed to impress Postecoglou, who was reportedly unhappy with Ndombele’s timekeeping and application in pre-season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old will now join Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal.

Philippe Coutinho

Coutinho swapped Barcelona for Aston Villa in January 2022 and sealed a reunion with former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard.

He initially impressed at Villa Park but has become a peripheral figure under Unai Emery, making just two substitute appearances this season.

The 31-year-old rejected interest from both Real Betis and Besiktas and now looks set to join Al Duhail after agreeing personal terms with the Qatar-based club.

“He is close to leaving, but we are waiting to see if the deal is complete or not,” Emery admitted on deadline day. “Philippe is a very good person and always we have to respect him as a person, firstly.”

Donny van de Beek

Despite being reunited with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag, Van de Beek still finds himself on the fringes at Manchester United.

The 26-year-old is behind Casemiro, Sofyan Amrabat, Scott McTominay, Mason Mount, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes in the pecking order, and he has not been included in any matchday squads this season.

He was linked with an array of different clubs in the summer, including Real Sociedad, Lorient, Inter Milan, Genoa and Luton Town.

While those moves did not come to fruition, Galatasaray are reportedly continuing talks with United about a deal to sign the midfielder on loan.

Demarai Gray

Gray is yet to play for Everton this season, and he has now appeared to criticise manager Sean Dyche in a social media post.

“Everton fans have always been great with me but it’s so difficult to play for someone who don’t show you respect as a person,” he wrote on Instagram.

The 27-year-old winger agreed personal terms with Fulham in the summer but Everton weren’t willing to sanction his departure.

A move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq, who are managed by Steven Gerrard, could still be on the cards and they are reportedly willing to pay a fee of around £7million.

Mohamed Salah

One of the best players in the world, Salah was the subject of an astonishing £150million bid from Saudi side Al Ittihad.

Liverpool rejected the bid but Sky Sports claim that Al Ittihad are getting encouragement in “certain quarters” and they are prepared to offer £200million.

It’s also been reported that the Egypt international has told friends he’s ‘tempted’ by the wages and chance at becoming the poster boy of the Middle East.

While Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool remain adamant that Salah is not for sale, a £200 million offer might be hard to turn down.

Jadon Sancho

Since joining Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, Sancho has failed to replicate his Bundesliga form in the Premier League.

He was also omitted from Erik ten Hag’s match-day squad against Arsenal as the Dutch boss claimed the winger had failed to reach the required standards in training.

“Please don’t believe everything you read,” Sancho replied on social media.” I will not allow people saying things that [are] completely untrue.

“I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!”

The 23-year-old now faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford and teams in Saudi Arabia could potentially capitalise on the situation.

Nicolas Pepe

Pepe became Arsenal’s record signing when he made the £72million move from Lille in 2019, but he has struggled to live up to the billing.

The Ivory Coast international spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Nice, who turned down the opportunity to sign him on a permanent deal.

According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, he recently rejected a move to Besiktas but is now attracting interest from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club.

If a deal does not materialise for the winger, it is expected that Arsenal will terminate his contract to cut his salary from the wage bill.
