Newcastle to rival Man Utd for sensational Serie A attacker, who is available for a ridiculously low fee

Paulo Dybala and Tammy Abraham of Roma

Newcastle United are ready to compete with Manchester United for talented Roma forward Paulo Dybala, according to reports.

The highly-rated Argentine allegedly has a release clause of just £10.6m in his contract, so a summer departure is looking increasingly likely.

Eddie Howe is looking to take his team to another level next season, and Dybala certainly has the quality to do so, but Man Utd may yet scupper their plans.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Roma man for some time, so it would come as a major disappointment to Erik Ten Hag to lose out to Newcastle.

During stints with Palermo, Juventus and now Roma, Dybala has scored a stunning 147 goals across all competitions, as well as contributing 71 assists over the last 10 years.

The Argentine is exciting to watch, playing with pace, confidence and the ability to score goals from pretty much anywhere on the pitch.

Dybala is also versatile and can play as a centre-forward, a second striker or on either wing, so he could cover multiple positions for Man Utd or Newcastle next season.

This season, he has continued his typical form, netting eight times and making seven assists in 16 league appearances for Roma.

Just a few years ago, Dybala was worth over £100m, according to Transfermarkt, but nowhe can be snapped up for an incredible bargain price of just £10.6m.

Dybala would be an incredible signing for Newcastle

Newcastle have enjoyed a simply stunning season so far, currently sitting in fourth place in the Premier League table after winning 10 of their 22 opening matches.

This has been thanks to the incredible form of attacking players such as Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson, Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and many others.

However, signing Dybala this summer could potentially turn the Magpies into a different force next season.

According to ChronicleLivethe Tynesiders look set to join the race for the World Cup winner, with it looking increasingly likely that he could leave.

They state that this will be especially likely if Roma miss out on qualifying for the Champions League, as Dybala is keen to play in the competition next season.

However, as mentioned, Man Utd hold a long-term interest in the Argentine. Ten Hag is looking to back up the in-form Marcus Rashford with attacking additions.

The Red Devils are also looking at another in-form player from Serie A: Napoli centre-forward Victor Osimhen. If they can seal deals for both players, they could be enough to turn Man Utd into serial title contenders once again.

However, if Newcastle succeed in finishing in a top-four spot this season, Dybala’s destination may ultimately come down to whichever team offers him the most lucrative contract.
