Bournemouth are confident of winning the race to sign AZ Alkmaar left-back, Milos Kerkez, and hijacking Lazio’s deal in the process, TEAMtalk understands.

Serie A giant Lazio had been leading the chase for the 19-year-old Hungary international. Indeed, Maurizio Sarri’s side had struck an agreement on personal terms with the talented full-back.

However, Lazio’s bid had not been accepted by Dutch side AZ. The Italians’ offer fell short of the full £15m valuation.

Now, TEAMtalk has learned Bournemouth – who have been following Kerkez for several months – have made their move.

Kerkez is keen to move to the Premier League and we understand terms over the transfer fee with AZ are close to completion.

Furthermore, an agreement on personal terms with the player has been struck, meaning a medical and agreement over the transfer fee are all that remain.

A source inside Bournemouth told TEAMtalk: “There is confidence around the deal, the player is keen to come which is a big thing.

“The club are excited by Kerkez and they really hope to get this deal over the line.”
