Third source tips Chelsea to devastate Tottenham with £70m January raid
Speculation Chelsea are ready to spend big on a Tottenham target in January continues to grow, with a report revealing £70m is the minimum amount it’ll take to seal a deal.

Indeed, reports in Spain (as cited by Football365), as well as GiveMeSport all claimed Chelsea are sizing up Ivan Toney.
The Brentford ace, 27, is currently half way through serving an eight-month suspension for breaching betting regulations.
Toney will be eligible to return to action on January 17 and varying reports have claimed he’ll be a man in demand.
Indeed, aside from Chelsea, Football London’s Alasdair Gold tipped Spurs to make their move. Ange Postecoglou has selected Richarlison to lead his line so far this season, though the Brazilian has struggled in the early going.
However, a third source in the form of Football Insider has now backed Chelsea to dash Tottenham’s dreams and sign Toney.
Brentford want £70m-plus for Toney
FI state Chelsea are indeed eyeing Toney up and clarify there was zero chance a summer move would occur thanks to the betting ban.
It could be a different story in the winter window, however, with the Blues firmly in the mix to pull off the mid-season coup.
Regarding Brentford’s stance, FI stress the Bees will be reluctant sellers. With good reason, Toney has been a revelation in the top flight for Thomas Frank’s side and his mark of 20 league goals last term was bettered only by Erling Haaland (35) and Harry Kane (27).
The report concluded Brentford would be likely to command a fee of at least £70m if parting ways with their talismanic frontman.
In multiple sides enter the bidding, Brentford can expect to recoup an even higher sum.
