Transfer Gossip: Klopp to launch huge bid for Wolves star with big name to leave Liverpool this week; Arsenal move for two forwards after Mudryk blow

Liverpool are ready to launch a move for a Wolves star and will free up funds by allowing a midfielder to leave this week, Arsenal are considering two wingers after missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk, while Monday’s Transfer Gossip claims Crystal Palace are looking to snare a Chelsea midfielder.

RUBEN NEVES SUBJECT OF BIG LIVERPOOL APPROACH

Liverpool are ready to make their move for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this week, according to a report.

The Merseysiders have so far signed Cody Gakpo from PSV in a deal that could top £45m to boost their attack. But it is in midfield where their big problems lay with a number of issues rearing their head over the weekend.

Indeed, in losing 3-0 at Brighton on Saturday, Klopp admits he cannot remember a worse defeat during his time at Anfield.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side were excellent value for their win, illustrating some smart finishing past Alisson. However, the game was won for the Seagulls in midfield, with Brighton’s players able to hussle Liverpool out of possession time and again.

Liverpool had no answer for the problem. And their three starters, Thiago, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, badly struggled to gain control.

Indeed, never has their need for a new midfielder been so badly exposed – and Klopp is now ready to act.

According to the Daily Mirror, they are now ready to launch an approach to sign Neves.

The Wolves star is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. But with just 18 months left on his deal, he looks unlikely to sign an extension at Molineux.

Newcastle are also keen on Neves, but were planning to make their move in the summer. Now the paper claims Liverpool could make their move this month to gain the upper hand.

At his peak, Wolves will have been asking for £70m for Neves. However, an offer of around £40m may tempt them to sell now.

Liverpool ready to let Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leave

One man who could free up a little cash and space in the Liverpool squad for Neves is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The 29-year-old former England star is out of contract in the summer and is free to leave Anfield. However, the Daily Mail reports that he is ready to leave Anfield before the window shuts. The Mail reports that a number of Premier League sides are keen to recruit the Arsenal old boy – and Liverpool could sanction his sale this week.

With just six months left on his deal, Liverpool will not be able to command a big fee. However, reports claim an offer of around £7.5m could tempt the Reds to cash in THIS WEEK.

The article suggests he is also willing to leave Anfield too, knowing it will give him the best chance of securing a solid move. But come the summer he will be competing with a number of other free agents – meaning he is ready to move on now.

A starter for the Reds at Brighton in an attacking role, the Mail suggests his game time at Liverpool will reduce once their injury problems ease.

ARSENAL OFFERED CHANCE TO SIGN LEANDRO TROSSARD

Arsenal are weighing up moves for two alternatives after seeing their prospects of sign Mykhaylo Mudryk come to nothing.

The Gunners have been chasing the Ukrainian star for several months and appeared set to secure his signing following extensive talks. But Chelsea pulled off the ultimate 11th hour  transfer hijack, securing his move to Stamford Bridge instead.

That comes as a massive setback for Arsenal with Ian Wright extremely bitter at Chelsea’s actions over the transfer.

For Arsenal, it’s now a case of going back to the drawing board – and the Daily Mirror claims they have two options in mind.

The easiest option for Arsenal may well be Brighton star Leandro Trossard. The Belgian has fallen out with their coach De Zerbi as he agitates for a move away.

The winger has been linked with Tottenham and Chelsea – but the Independent now claims he has offered to Arsenal.

He has scored seven goals and provided three assists from 16 Premier League games this season. With just 18 months left on his deal, the Belgian wants to move on – and a move to Arsenal could provide the perfect outcome for all parties.

The Gunners, though, are also looking into a possible deal for Raphinha.

The Brazilian left Leeds over the summer in a £58m deal – but the move has not quite worked as planned. Now reports claim Barcelona are willing to cash in on the star – though may seek as much as £88.5m (€100m) for his services.

PALACE READY TO LAUNCH NEW MOVE FOR CONOR GALLAGHER

Crystal Palace are ready to test the water with a fresh move to sign Conor Gallagher this week.

The England man impressed during his loan stint at Selhurst Park last season, becoming a fans’ favourite for his high-energy displays.

And Palace tried to bring him back to the club over the summer, only to see their efforts fail. However, his return to Chelsea has not quite worked out as planned.

Conor Gallagher making his Chelsea debut

Indeed, while he has appeared in 17 Premier League games this season, only eight of those have been starts. And Gallagher has not been able to impact himself at Chelsea the way he did at Crystal Palace. As it stands, he has just one goal and one assist to his name.

Now The Sun claims Palace are ready to make a fresh approach to lure him back across London.

The article does not say whether Palace will move to sign him on loan again or try for a permanent move.

Either way, Palace’s hopes are apparently also inter-twined in their move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Patrick Vieira wants Wan-Bissaka back at Selhurst Park from his Man Utd struggles. However, the Red Devils are now seeking a fee for Wan-Bissaka, rather than a loan-to-buy as first thought.
