Transfer Gossip: Man Utd approach Bayern Munich over signing four-time title winner

Manchester United have made an approach to Bayern Munich over the availability of a top attacker, while Sunday’s Transfer Gossip claims that Frank Lampard is looking to end Everton’s striker crisis with a swoop for a Ligue 1 forward.

TEN HAG TARGETS SURPRISE SANE SWOOP

Manchester United have reportedly made a surprise enquiry about the availability of former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, as Erik ten Hag continues to look to bolster his attacking options.

The Germany international has failed to nail down a regular starting spot since swapping City for Bayern in 2020.

And the arrival of Sadio Mane in Munich has not helped his cause. Another flying winger, Serge Gnabry, also signed a new Bayern deal in July – having looked like he would leave.

Sane started only 22 Bundesliga games last season. He has, however, scored 25 goals in 91 outings for the Bavarian giants.

Ten Hag has been in the market for another winger ever since arriving at United from Ajax.

Brazilian attacker Antony remains on his radar, with the pair having worked together in Holland. However, the Red Devils have already seen two offers for the forward rebuffed.

And now, United have switched their focus to former City flier Sane, as reported in the Sunday Mirror.

Sane a no-risk option for Ten Hag

Ten Hag is said to believe that the 26-year-old’s Premier League experience means he will no trouble acclimatising back to England’s top flight.

Sane won the Premier League twice during his time at The Etihad, and has done likewise at Bayern.

However, United are not the only club interested in signing the player.

Jurgen Klopp is known to be a big admirer, although Liverpool are already well stocked in the wide attacking areas.

As for Ten Hag’s hopes for the rest of the summer window, the United boss still wants to add two more signings before September 1.

United have so far brought in Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen. But Ten Hag wants another attacker and potentially a midfielder, as he looks to get the club back in the top-four race.

EVERTON EYEING STRIKER DEAL

Everton boss Frank Lampard is reportedly keen on signing Rennes hitman Serhou Guirassy to aid his current striker crisis.

Having lost Richarlison to Tottenham in the summer, Lampard suffered a double blow when Dominic Calvert-Lewin was ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury on the eve of the new Premier League season.

And with Salomon Rondon also banned, the Toffees were fairly toothless in attack in their loss to Chelsea.

To that end, Lampard wants the powerful Guirassy on board to bolster his ranks.

The Goodison chief has tracked the forward since his Chelsea side faced Rennes in the Champions League two years ago.

And The Sun claims the player is available for a fee in the region of £15million.

The report adds that Everton could look to loan Guirassy with a guaranteed purchase – if he does well on Merseyside.

Rennes are open to the sale after lining up a replacement for Guirassy, who scored ten goals last term.

WEST HAM KEEPING TABS ON FREE AGENT DEFENDER

West Ham are reportedly keeping an eye on developments with giant French centre-half Dan-Axel Zagadou.

Dan-Axel Zagadou of Dortmund

The 6ft 5in former Borussia Dortmund player is a free agent after a couple of injury-hit seasons in the Bundesliga.

Zagadou is currently in discussions with Roma and Inter Milan. However, Irons boss David Moyes is also looking into a transfer, as reported in The Sun.

Moyes views the 23-year-old as a perfect replacement for Issa Diop, if the centre-back moves on before September 1.

London rivals Fulham are currently looking to strike a deal for Diop.
